BOIOTIA, Thebes. Time of Galba, circa 68-69 AD. Lot of two Æ. Both coins: Pemptides, magistrate. QHB-AIWN, head of Tyche right / EPI ARCI P-EMPTIDOU, Dionysos standing right, holding kantharos. RPC I 1335 (these coins referenced); Head, Boeotia p. 95; SNG Cop. 396. Varieties: (a) Æ 20mm (8.71 g, 7h). Countermark on reverse: DHMO in incuse crescent (Howgego 531) // (b) Æ 18mm (7.32 g, 9h). Both coins Fine, and extremely rare. Two (2) coins in lot. ($400)
